I was working on these small-scale multi-media collages with an Aerial Viewpoint, not being of this world but viewing it none-the-less. In these pieces, the photographic image, and a textural painted surface creates a layered atmospheric, archaeological sensibility. I have created paintings from a heightened point of view from mountaintops that tie in distance and discovery and a thoughtful detachment. A sense of watching the world as interested observer in details, altered perspectives, different sites and coming in closer and closer.
