Mural Projects
My mural projects were site-specific to each community, and I garnered their concerns and themes from classroom workshops which encouraged the children’s imagery in drawings. The drawings were at the heart of the murals, and I incorporated them into the design along with the colour. Then I worked on site with groups of children to complete the mural as designed.
The site-specific concern for the design of the horticultural art truck was formulated from the variety of plant species that the gardeners tend to in the parks in Port Moody.
Four mural projects are presented in this gallery, which includes:
2001’s Human Waves on Ancient Ground, Marpole Community Centre, for Vancouver Parks Board
2004 Port Moody Horticultural Art Truck Mural
2007’s A Kaleidoscope Multicultural Mural Project, Forest Grove Elementary, Burnaby, BC
2008’s Our Story: Our Song, Cameron Elementary, Burnaby, BC.
